A general philosophical theory of signs and symbols that deals especially with their function in both artificially constructed ad natural languages and comprised syntactic, semantics and pragmatics the study id signs and sign systems. This includes the investigation of apprehension, prediction and meaning: how it is that we develop meaning, make predictions, and apprehend the world.
In much easier way to remember what is semiotic. Just remember "Sign". A study of sign. Not the sign board. But how people, things and etc present the sign. Exactly where do people learn signs from? The 'stop' sign, the 'good' signs and etc.
Example: You know when people doesn't want to listen to your stories, they will make this kind of faces. That is what I mean by signs.
Semiotics is also often divided into three branches:
ReplyDelete• Semantics: Relation between signs and the things to which they refer; their denotata, or meaning
• Syntactics: Relations among signs in formal structures
• Pragmatics: Relation between signs and the effects they have on the people who use them
in addtional,I think semiotic is the studies of sign, symbol and signification. it is the study how meaning is created
ReplyDeletepeople learn signs from each other. When someone do this kind of sign. They will follow and mostly they have the same definition of signs.
